"Please join us on Thursday, September 8 from 1:00 to 4:30 pm for the NWREC Vegetable Variety Field Day at the North Willamette Research and Extension Center in Aurora. There will be tasting tables and a field tour.

Winter squash, tomatoes, specialty peppers, leeks, beets, basil and lettuce varieties will be highlighted this year. We have trials from Bejo Seeds, Johnny's Selected Seeds, Osborne Seed Company, PanAmerican Seed, Sakata Seeds and Vitalis Organic Seeds/Enza Zaden. Representatives and breeders from seed companies lead field tours showcasing their varieties.

The Culinary Breeding Network featured crops grown at NWREC are, cucumbers, corn, Japanese turnips and specialty peppers.  

Nick Andrews will give an update on our packing shed project and black leg, and representatives from Bejo Seeds, Johnny’s Selected Seeds and Vitalis will lead field tours of their varieties.
