Help Roll Out the Welcome Mat!

Our Chapter is hosting the OMGA Board Meeting this November and it would be great to roll out a true welcome from the Multnomah Co. MGs!   We are seeking those who enjoy baking, cooking and/or offering welcoming hospitality to our guests.

OMGA Board Meeting, Oregon Food Bank, 7900 NE 33rd Avenue
- Leadership Forum - Friday, November 2nd, 1pm to 4pm
- Board Meeting - Saturday, November 3rd, 10am to 3pm

So, who is this OMGA that we want to welcome?  The Oregon Master Gardener™ Association is the statewide, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose purpose is to enhance and support the OSU Master Gardener™ program. The county Master Gardener chapters together make up the state association. Representatives from all the Chapters make up the OMGA Board.  The Board meets quarterly – rotating the meetings throughout the state.  In November we have the honor of hosting, up to 40 guests from around the state.  We want to make it a special event!

Can you assist preparing and serving beverages, snacks, and a lunch?

Do you enjoy baking or cooking?  We need individuals to volunteer to make one of the following:

  • Soup (chili, clam chowder, bean, split pea, your specialty?)

  • Salad (tossed, veggie, grain, pasta)

  • Dessert (pies, cookies, cake, cobbler, your favorite?)

*Your expenses for the ingredients will be reimbursed.
**Time spent helping with this event can be counted as “Partner” volunteer hours

In addition, if you have interest in the innerworkings of the OMGA and what other Chapters are doing throughout the state - you are more than welcome to attend. The event is free and open to all.

We hope you can join in assisting with this important event.

If you are interested in helping please contact Lorna Schilling (Lorna is making East African Peanut Soup – a favorite in her family).
