Message from your 2018 Chapter President
Reflecting on my time with the MG Board
As we approach the end of the year, many of us will be looking forward to spending time with family and friends, sharing memories and reflecting on our achievements, as well as setting goals for the future. It is also traditionally a time for serving others and sharing what we have.
Ever since I was invited to join the MG Board in 2017, I have been immensely appreciative for the time we’ve spent working together to support diversity, community, and the mission of gardening education. Thank you for this opportunity to serve; I am deeply grateful for the journey I have shared with my fellow Master Gardeners.
And this from one of my heroes:
“Each time we gather together, I am reminded that although we bring incredibly valuable individual experiences and perspectives to the table, our strength lies in the knowledge that our collective voice and action can make a greater difference.” ~ Martti Ahtisaari, Elder
Now the time has come for us to welcome a new board. I have great confidence in our new leadership group with Jack Lazareck at the helm. As past president, I will continue to support the group’s work in every way I can as we continue our work towards our common goals.
I wish everyone a warm and wonderful holiday season. May visions of beautiful gardens dance in your heads!
