Thank you to all who contributed to the Education in the Garden fund over the past few weeks. Your amazing support is appreciated, thank you!

As you likely know by now, the one thing missing from our new Demonstration Garden Annex is an indoor space and climate-controlled area to offer educational opportunities such as hands-on classes and seminars to the public in all seasons. As our use of a Portland Public Schools greenhouse diminishes due to greenhouse age and problems with maintenance, we need to consider new spaces to offer educational opportunities. Unfortunately, the donation of a greenhouse that we had anticipated has fallen through, and we are now faced with funding the entire cost ourselves. Last month, we sent out a mailer to our Chapter members in an effort to start raising funds to help offset the costs for the greenhouse.

In only a few weeks time, we’ve raised nearly $4500 from contributions made by 31 chapter members, donations ranging from $10-$500.

These funds will be used towards our ongoing goal to offer sustainable gardening information and education opportunities to members of our community.

The donation page will remain active throughout 2019. Please follow this link for more info on how to contribute.
