8th Annual Incredible Edible Plant Sale

Beven Peters has placed the initial plant order marking the official kickoff for the Incredible Edible Plant Sale!

Saturday, May 11th Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1624 NE Hancock St. Portland, Oregon 97212

Please note, the sale date has been changed.  Due to a conflict at the venue, we have moved the sale to May 11th, the day before Mother’s Day.

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!

Each year presents new challenges, from the “wind event” to last year’s newly landscaped parking lot challenge.  This year we will have a bit more room to move the Plant Check closer to the Cashier queue which will be an improvement.  Rich Becker and Kathy Fetty, the IE Co-chairs, have started working on recruiting the many team leads needed to be in place before we ramp up the volunteer recruiting effort.

We hope to be able to support the usual events onto the site:

·      The secure plant sale area

·      Multnomah Master Gardener merchandise

·      The Incredible Raffle

·      Master Gardener Clinic table

·      Speakers tent

·      Kids tent

·      Food and craft vendors

·      Partners in Education tents

·      Entertainers tent

Please help spread the word via Facebook, Nextdoor, or any additional social media sites you frequent!

Mark your own calendars for both May 10th and May 11th if you want to be part of the setup party.

Interested in a team lead position? Contact Rich and Kathy, at MCMG.IEChair@gmail.com.  While many of last year’s team leads will be continuing, we’d still love to have an opportunity to train future leads, and most importantly to encourage sharing new ideas and energy!

It would also be extremely helpful if you can share any pictures you may have of last years’ IE Sale by sending them to MCMG.IEChair@gmail.com.

Remember, this event is our major funder raiser for the year.  Since Beven and Marcia created this event 7 years ago, the Multnomah Chapter has been able to provide much stronger financial support to the Metro MG Program, for fellowships and scholarships that are helping broaden the diversity and the skill set of our volunteer organization, and to help underwrite the expansion of the Demo Garden.

Please come, volunteer, make new friendships & reconnect with old friends!

Help connect with this year’s new interns who provide the important sustaining energy for the chapter and the event!
