G-Suite for the Multnomah County MGs
Over the course of the last year, our chapter has been working to test and adopt a new system for doing work collaboratively online: Google’s G-Suite.
This system is Google's suite of services like the ones you might be used to if you have a GMail address, or if your company uses G-Suite, but specifically for the chapter.
This project is intended to set the chapter up to meet the changing needs of members across the next decade and beyond, as members join who are increasingly accustomed to working, collaborating, and communicating in online spaces.
And we're taking our time, phasing in this system over the course of a couple of years, so MGs will have time to get used to using it.
One of the most obvious early steps you might have noticed is to slowly replace a collection of separate GMail addresses with new ones within our chapter's domain: multnomahmastergardeners.org.
Chapter officers and other users can be reached at email addresses at our domain instead of google's domain. For example:
The chapter will also have a single repository where we can archive and share official documents, including our bylaws, chapter minutes, policies, procedures, budgets and other information about how the chapter runs.
The chapter's officers and many of the chairs of standing committees are already using this system to communicate, share and archive chapter information, and collaborate on projects and files.
We're excited to share this project with you.
