It’s beginning to look a lot like a garden in our new Demonstration Garden Annex!
Lots of MGs have been out as volunteers, attending a class or at our potluck.
What’s missing in our new project is an indoor space for hands-on classes and a climate-controlled area in which to expand our abilities to garden in all seasons. As our use of a Portland Public Schools greenhouse diminishes due to greenhouse age and problems with maintenance, we need to consider new spaces to offer educational opportunities.
Unfortunately, the donation of a greenhouse that we had anticipated has fallen through, and we are now faced with funding the entire cost ourselves.
We will need to raise a large amount of money in a relatively short time. This is an expensive project that we’d like to have ready for the spring season, but using the funds we have on hand in our reserve would almost completely deplete those, and we want to exercise prudence and care for the future health of our Chapter.
You can help make this vital phase of our plan a reality by donating to the Education in the Garden Fund.
Your donations are tax-deductible. Multnomah County Master Gardener Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our tax Id is 30-0064570. To be deductible in 2018, donations must be received by Dec 31.
Thank you for considering a donation to this important next step in our Chapter’s growth.
You will be contributing to a bright future for our Chapter and the community as we expand our educational mission and outreach - teaching others successful and sustainable gardening techniques.
