We aren't the only ones! Organizations and agencies around the area offer a variety of classes, workshops and other training opportunities. We will post the ones we know about here. If you know of any training opportunities that other master gardeners might be interested please let us know and we will post them here.
2018 Seed Swap
January 28th, 2018 from 10am-12pm
You're invited: Grow Portland's second annual Seed Swap is a chance to share seeds you have saved in your garden.
The event takes place on Sunday, January 28th in conjunction with National Seed Swap Day from 10am-12pm at the Midland Library (805 SE 122nd Ave). We will feature speaker Putsata Reang, a nationally-known journalist who will talk about early immigrant urban farmers in Portland. Close to 100 people participated in the swap last year and took home new and interesting seeds—from native plants to varieties of Burmese dry beans. If you have seeds to share and would like to participate, sign up on our website.
Following the event, non-profit gardening projects will be able to select from the seed bank of donated Seed Swap seeds to use in their garden projects. Find out more about our seed saving work.
