/6:00pm via zoom
Attendees:

January 7th meeting minutes: approved via email
Discussions:
Google Suites – Mike discussed various features of the Google Workspace. Some suggestions from the conversation:
Gmail - To use MCMGA emails going forward rather that outside email addresses to access and use Google Workspace. - Forward MG emails to personal email or use an email software to make multiple addresses easier to use.
Google Groups – Use to send emails to multiple people at a time. Demo Garden would like to consolidate their group into the MCMGA Google Workspace and out of personal gmail accounts.
Drive – Update permission – issues in the past with the public editing docs.
Suggest switching to perhaps Google Meet – free with Google Suite (unlike Zoom which we need to pay for) – unsure of webinar feature in Google Meet
Google Calendar - Washington County uses a G-cal on their website and add their events
While Google Workspace has a limit, we will likely never hit it.
Next steps: Mike will utilize Organizational Units and will create a shared drive with educational tutorials about the Workspace
Board is requested to use their MCMGA email addresses because it’s easier to remove folx. Cynthia will switch Valentina, Jennifer, and Shu-Ju’s personal emails to their MCMGA emails for the board.
Valentina is added as a Manager to the MCMGA Google Group
Budget ask: Cynthia has requested $250 for Backup drives. In order to back up Google drive documents on (2) backup drives. Jen and Mike could hold on to and trade as needed
Jen Hazen motioned to add line item for $250 for backup drives
Lorna seconded
Board approved
PPS property next to Demo Garden – Pruning workshop for interns has been scheduled. Other community workshops are forthcoming. All costs associated are coming out of the education budget. Honl Tree Care is giving a bid for large invasive removal
Demo Garden Update – The Demo Garden is preparing to reopen to volunteers in March. Raised bed planning and maintenance is underway shortly.
January MGMGA gathering - ~32 participants. Attendees said they had a good time and liked that it was a social afternoon event. Folks also noted it was nice to have the event in NE. Next event in April – open to location suggestions
IE Sale - 8 volunteer signups at the January gathering (more expected with eNews blast). The time of the sale will remain the same and more plants are proposed to be made available for purchase. Plant list is not on the website yet but will be soon. There are commitments from community partners to table.
Linda and Carole are co-chairs. Linda is responsible for volunteers, Carole is responsible for operations and logistics.
New Committee: Bylaws and Policies and Procedures
Susan, Mike, Jen will be reviewing the bylaws, which were last updated in 2018/2019. Let them know if you’re interested in joining!
Volunteer Opportunity Fair - March 16th Sunday 12-2p? in Clackamas. Opportunity for all 3 chapters to meet new volunteers and a great way to recruit volunteers. All chapters are given the same number of tables for presence due to limited space.
