Discussions:

  1. Kim B. discussed the upcoming community education training that’s taking place at Food Innovation Center from 1-4:30pm (November 15th); reminded people that if you submitted a volunteer activity proposal there’s a reporting form that needs to be done by 10/31; reminded everyone that end of year reporting needs to be entered into VRS by 10/31; background checks needed if you’re involved in certain activities - most will expire at the end of October and will need to be renewed - announcement forthcoming

  2. Cynthia - she & Rich went to a ceremony at the Food Innovation Center with OSU to celebrate the fact that Mult County is being funded again.

  3. Cynthia - Allyse Heartwell will set us up on Instagram; Carole said they’re trying to create a social media team and need more volunteers; Lisa Martins will be taking over Google Suites from Mike and also has a back-up person (Shannon) to help. Both are experienced with Google.

  4. Linda - very successful harvest fest - 55 rsvp’d and possibly more than that showed up; soil temps 55-60°, weather is changing and cover crops being planted; lots of new volunteer requests to work at the garden which is unusual for this time of year; workshop this Saturday; Carole will start working Saturdays in the DG in November.

  5. Cynthia - talked about additional funds for education to recreate a set of the printed/laminated materials that Carole uses as teaching tools so they’re more readily available; funds weren’t budgeted this year so Cynthia moved to take $500 from our reserve account, Linda seconded, and all in favor = John, Rich, Carole, Jennifer, Linda, Cynthia

  6. Cynthia/Susan - bylaws were revised to reflect current practice which has changed since covid; discussed that Chapter voted in 2008-2010 to no longer require chapter members to be certified, only board members are required to be certified. Susan will review draft bylaws against OMGA bylaws, look for sections regarding chapter meetings, and resend updated drafts. Cynthia wants to send bylaws to the chapter for approval prior to board elections this year.
