Discussions:

  1. Approval of minutes

    • Motioned: Lorna Schilling

    • Seconded: Mike Rutherford

  2. Angela Myatt discussed the OMGA meeting minutes. Angela and Rich did not attend the meeting due but did receive the minutes for the 3/7 meeting. After reviewing meeting minutes, Angela noted she will write a blurb for the eNews blast regarding the grant deadline of May 15th.

  3. John Jordan discussed fundraising and membership updates from Heidi Nichols. MGMA’s BottleDrop account makes around ~$100/month and a BottleDrop event that provides a bonus is occurring on April 15th. Since June 2019 we have made ~$7k.

    • Membership: 160 people have renewed as of 3/25 and the dues total $2815, total for dues and additional donated funds = $5480. The deadline to renew to be included in the MGMA directory is April 10th. The 7 people who renew at $0 need to have their names sent to bookkeeper Jennifer Nottingham. Dues also need to be sent to OMGA.

  4. Linda Goldser discussed the Demo Garden. There have been 63 requests for orientation from new interns and 13 new sign ups for volunteers.

  5. Cynthia Chase gave updates about the Education programs from Carole. Workshops are being offered to both interns and perennials. Carole is looking for volunteers for the “In the Garden Workshop” on 4/27 - sign up on CERVIS.

  6. Incredible Edible Sale was discussed. Press releases and marketing materials will be created and distributed soon. Carole will include a call in eNews in April for more volunteers. Contracts with vendors are being finalized

  7. Cynthia updated on ongoing projects. Efforts have been made to get back into the Multnomah County budget by talking with county commissioners. Updates to the By-Laws and Financial policies can potentially be put up to a chapter vote in September.

  8. Kim Butchereit gave updates from the Metro Extension. Recertification stickers are in the mail and interns are finishing coursework by mid-April (70 new interns in Multnomah County). Workshops and other volunteer opportunities are getting added to CERVS on a rolling basis. There is a new document on the MGMA website with more information on the program and the hours required to maintain perennial status (also included with recertification stickers).
