Discussions:

  1. Kim Butchereit discussed the Extension Program website and the Volunteer Resources page with information for Perennials and recertification requirements. Kim noted some members are mistakenly reporting to the old system (which other counties are using) which contributed to delays in verifying hours along with use of the new VERS system this past year. In the How to Maintain OSU MG Certification

    • Document with all requirements for MG Recertification (Program vs Partner activities, how to submit for Pre-Approved Activity)

    • Education Credits - have to be timely (within the past year) - new requirement

    • MG should not be volunteering for program hours without completing and signing forms

    • Sex Offender Check - sent by Srijana - a consent form to volunteer

    • Criminal History Check - Youth Registry Program - every two years

  2. Approved March minutes

  3. Carole provided an IE Sale update. Everything was nearly sold out by 12:30pm and ~100 plants donated to charity. Main customer feedback was that popular varieties sold out by volunteers - we have the data on when varieties sold out for planning for next year. Error on laminated price sheets caught by Jennifer around 10:30a. In total there were 180 volunteers who contributed 782 volunteer hours over two days. A Post Project Review will be held soon.

  4. Linda provided a Demo Garden update. 77 visitors to date with half of those attending workshops. This does not include community classes or school tours. 166 lbs. of produce have been donated so far - lettuce and spinach. The Open Garden Event August 9th 10-2p set, advertising of event will begin in June. In the meantime, other events on various gardening topics continue to be held at the Demo Garden.

  5. Membership Report as of 5/27 (from Heidi Nichols via email)

    • paid renewals or joins 161

    • no pay 7

    • honorary/lifetime 4

    • 2025 trainees 71

    • Total 243

    • Amount paid varies from nothing to $300.

    • No pays were attributed to members closing out before the second web page asking for CC information loaded up - all credited to accidentally not paying.
